Reese's
We recently had the pleasure of collaborating with the team at Mother London on an innovative "physical-to-digital" Xmas campaign for Reese's chocolate.
The campaign centred around a QR-code-enabled advent calendar, available from retailers in the lead-up to festive period. Each day revealed a unique QR code that allowed users to play the "DJ Santa Head Grabber game" on their mobile devices.
The game offered participants the chance to win a bundle of Reese's products, an exclusive Reese's music track, or a grand prize of $5,000.
To support the campaign, we built a robust backend admin tool to inspect and manage entries and prizes easily. Given the desirability of the rewards, the system included rate-limiting features to ensure fairness and prevent abuse. We also integrated an API with Reese's fulfilment partner to streamline prize distribution and minimise manual effort. For a rich frontend experience, we used Rive to deliver bandwidth-efficient, interactive animations based on video motion graphics provided by the Mother team.
The campaign has been a great success, attracting over a million visits throughout the advent season.
